Compress Image to 25KB: is this the right limit?
This preset starts the image compressor at 25KB. It is most useful when the website, application, or document portal accepting your image specifies that maximum. The result depends on the source image; a target is not a promise of identical quality or exact output size.
When this target makes sense
a small profile or application image when the upload form sets a 25KB maximum.
Practical advice for 25KB
Use a close crop with a plain background when appropriate. Confirm the final pixel dimensions and that the subject remains recognizable; the kilobyte limit and dimension rules are separate checks.
Twenty-five kilobytes is still a tight budget for a detailed photograph. Busy backgrounds and fine textures use data that may have to be sacrificed to meet the cap.
A reliable image-compression check
- Check the destination's maximum file size, accepted format, and required pixel dimensions.
- Upload up to three images (20MB maximum each), crop unused content if helpful, and keep the 25KB preset unless you need another limit.
- Compress and review the resulting image. Confirm its actual size and that important text, edges, and subject details remain clear.
- If it is still too large or no longer readable, try a more focused crop or a larger limit if the destination allows one.
