Compress Image to 100KB: is this the right limit?
This preset starts the image compressor at 100KB. It is most useful when the website, application, or document portal accepting your image specifies that maximum. The result depends on the source image; a target is not a promise of identical quality or exact output size.
When this target makes sense
a modest-size form upload, profile image, or web graphic with a 100KB cap.
Practical advice for 100KB
Check whether the source dimensions are larger than the destination needs; reducing excess pixels can preserve more visible quality than keeping a huge image and lowering quality alone. Use the preview to decide.
One hundred kilobytes often gives simple images room to remain clear, but there is no single quality outcome for every source. Photos, screenshots, and graphics compress differently.
A reliable image-compression check
- Check the destination's maximum file size, accepted format, and required pixel dimensions.
- Upload up to three images (20MB maximum each), crop unused content if helpful, and keep the 100KB preset unless you need another limit.
- Compress and review the resulting image. Confirm its actual size and that important text, edges, and subject details remain clear.
- If it is still too large or no longer readable, try a more focused crop or a larger limit if the destination allows one.
Choose a different image size
Use the limit required by the receiving site. These presets change the starting target; the tool also lets you adjust it.
