Compress Image to 10KB: is this the right limit?

This preset starts the image compressor at 10KB. It is most useful when the website, application, or document portal accepting your image specifies that maximum. The result depends on the source image; a target is not a promise of identical quality or exact output size.

When this target makes sense

a small form image, simple signature, or compact graphic when a website explicitly caps uploads at 10KB.

Practical advice for 10KB

Remove empty borders before compressing so the available bytes describe the useful part of the image. A photograph with fine detail may need substantial resizing; compare the preview with the original before using it.

Ten kilobytes leaves little room for texture or small text. Use this target because the receiving form requires it, not as a general-purpose photo setting.

A reliable image-compression check

  1. Check the destination's maximum file size, accepted format, and required pixel dimensions.
  2. Upload up to three images (20MB maximum each), crop unused content if helpful, and keep the 10KB preset unless you need another limit.
  3. Compress and review the resulting image. Confirm its actual size and that important text, edges, and subject details remain clear.
  4. If it is still too large or no longer readable, try a more focused crop or a larger limit if the destination allows one.

Choose a different image size

Use the limit required by the receiving site. These presets change the starting target; the tool also lets you adjust it.
