Split Images Online for Free
Split an image into multiple smaller images with the free FindAllTools Image Splitter. Upload a photo, screenshot, graphic, scanned page, or other supported image, choose the number of rows and columns, and generate separate image sections.
You can adjust the crop area before splitting and preview the grid to see how the image will be divided. Each generated section can then be downloaded individually or all together as a ZIP file.
How to Split an Image
- Upload the image you want to split.
- Choose the number of rows.
- Choose the number of columns.
- Adjust the crop area if you only want to split part of the image.
- Preview the grid over the selected image area.
- Click Split Image to generate the individual sections.
- Download individual sections or use Download ZIP to save all parts together.
Split Images into Rows and Columns
The Image Splitter lets you control both dimensions of the split grid. Select the number of rows and columns based on how many sections you need.
For example, selecting 2 rows and 3 columns creates 6 separate image parts. Selecting 3 rows and 3 columns creates 9 sections.
Crop an Image Before Splitting
You do not have to split the entire image. Use the crop area in the preview to select the portion you want to divide.
This is useful when an image contains margins, unwanted areas, or content that should not be included in the generated sections.
Keep the Grid Proportional
Enable Match Grid Ratio when you want the crop area to follow the proportions of your selected rows and columns.
For example, a 2 × 2 grid uses a square ratio, while a 2 × 3 grid uses a wider crop ratio based on the number of columns and rows.
Preview the Split Grid
The preview displays dividing lines over the selected crop area. This makes it easier to see where each generated image section will begin and end before processing the image.
You can change the row and column values and adjust the crop area until the grid matches the layout you need.
Download Individual Split Images
After the image has been split, each generated part appears in the results section with its dimensions and a download button.
This allows you to save only specific sections without downloading the complete set.
Download All Parts as a ZIP
If you need every generated section, use Download ZIP. The tool packages all split PNG images into a single ZIP file so they can be saved together.
Each image is given a numbered filename such as split-1.png, split-2.png, and split-3.png.
Split JPG, PNG, and WebP Images
You can upload common image formats including JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP, provided they are supported by your browser.
The generated sections are exported as PNG images, making them convenient to save and use independently.
Split Screenshots into Smaller Images
Image splitting can be useful when a screenshot is too large to share or when different sections need to be saved separately.
Choose the appropriate rows and columns to divide a long screenshot into smaller, easier-to-manage image files.
Split Large Graphics and Posters
Large graphics, posters, diagrams, maps, and other images can be divided into multiple sections. Crop the required area first and then choose the grid dimensions that fit your use case.
Split Scanned Documents and Pages
You can also use the splitter for scanned images and document pages when a single image needs to be divided into smaller sections.
If your goal is to combine multiple scanned images into one document instead, you can use the FindAllTools Image to PDF tool.
Split Images Directly in Your Browser
Image splitting is performed directly in your browser using browser-based image processing and the HTML Canvas API. Your image does not need to be uploaded to a remote image-processing server.
Processing time can vary depending on your device, browser, image dimensions, and available memory. Very large images may require additional processing time.
No Software Installation Required
You can split images without installing desktop image editing software. Open the tool in a modern browser, upload your image, configure the grid, and download the generated sections.
